Fun with Bubbles!
Alexis is in the Rainbows writing group. This group has been learning to include speech marks and a question mark in their paragraphs. Here is her writing. Well done Alexis!
We went outside to make bubbles. Me and my friend said to Sarai "you look like Santa Claus!" Then we made it into a milkshake like a big foam mountain. I thought what is everybody doing with the bubbles?

Bubbles Everywhere! By Stevenson
The Rainbows have been learning to write a paragraph that included "speech marks" and a question mark ?. Here is Stevenson's writing. Great writing Stevenson!
I wondered what everyone was doing? Miss Lavakula said "We're making bubbles". We put water in a bucket with dishwashing liquid and oil. Miss Lavakula gave us some coloured straws. When we got our straws lots of bubbles came out. Falefehi's team was puffing and puffing away. Soon their plastic bucket looked like a volcano was erupting.

A Pirate Limerick Poem by Room 10
Over the last week, we have be learning about Limerick Poems. Do you know what a Limerick poem is? We looked up some examples from this website about Pirates that had lots of good information and activities to do. Here is what we came up with as a class.
There once was a pirate named Peter
He loved to sit next to the heater
He tried to go to sleep
But was hungry for sheep
And he ran a hundred meters
If you have any ideas or would like to share a limerick poem with us, feel free to do so. Here are some pictures that Kavaliku and Calvin have drawn of a pirate.

Making Silly Sandwiches in Room 10
This term as part of a writing motivation we made Silly Sandwiches in partners. One was blindfolded their arms were making the sandwich and the person sitting down on the chair and wasn't blindfolded acted as the guide and gave their buddy directions and instructions on what to do. Below are some photos of this experience. As you can see it was a lot of fun and laughs. Stay tuned for stories that the children have written.
