This week the whole school had to do a writing sample. This was our class experience of eating a cookie. The children had to brainstorm, think and write about what they could see, smell and taste. We've also got photos to show you what we did as well. We will have some of the children retell their stories later.

Your cookies were making me feel hungry. Your brainstorming what your cookie looked like was very impressive. You came up with some great describing words, to use in your recount writing.

This is a much better topic to write about than stuff I have my students do. (Their prompts are pretty neat, but they aren't about eating cookies.) This is a good idea for writing descriptions. I could also use it for observations in science.

Room Ten! Wow! I don't know why I didn't see this video before, I can't have been paying close enough attention! I loved the way that everyone was smelling the Chocolate Chip biscuits, it looked like fun! I also liked the music that went with the video, it made me want to sing along and to dance, although Im not very good at either. Nice to see the students doing such a fun activity that also had the learning intention so clear. Wonderful work again!
