The Kiwifruits group have read an Interview by Dr Colin O'Donnell. As part of their activity the children had to write and record an interview. Tavake's Game Animation

This term the children had to design and create their own game. They had to plan their backgrounds and their characters. They also had to think about the purpose of their game and what the player had to do. Here is Tavake's game. He wrote his own voice-over and didn't need much help putting this together. Well done Tavake!

Basketball in Term 2

For the past 9 weeks, our maths class have been very fortunate to have two coaches: Vinnie and Shanice from Auckland Basketball, come and coach us. They have been teaching us skills: passing, catching, stop jump, dribbling the ball, guarding the ball and lots more. We got to play heaps of games like: Golden Child and 3 on 3 and so forth. We just wanted to say a huge "THANK YOU" to our coaches and to Miss Va'afusuaga for organising this for us.

Wheels Day!!

Last week on Friday 26th June, our school had Wheels Day and Wacky Hair Day. Here are some photos and footage of our children enjoying having wheels at school. Even the teachers had a go with wheels too. It was heaps of fun! All the money raised by our school is going to be donated to the schools in Dunedin that were affected by the recent floods.

The Magic Show by KGJ

Our class are having a Talent Show today. It was optional for students. They've been practicing for the last five weeks. They came up with their own items, songs and performances and practised during lunchtimes. Here is one item from Kaharau, Germaine and Joshua.

The Buzzy Bees reading group read an article called Pigeon Post by Phillipa Werry. This is an article School Journal Part 2 Number 1 2006. It was about pigeons being used a long time ago to transport messages quickly.

The Jandals group read a story called "Grandpa's Photo Album" by Peter Friend and Alicia Ponder. The story is about grandpa and his new computer. Anzac Day

Today our school had a special assembly in remembrance of ANZAC Day. Lots of us have learned a bit more about why this day is special and why we need to remember this. We were very lucky to be given a field for us to gather around. We heard and hope that other schools around New Zealand held something similar too. We had a minutes silence and our prefects did a special karakia too.

Point England School Picnic 2015

Every year in the first term our whole school walks down to Point England Beach. The children spend the day playing sports, making sand castles, playing on the playground, swimming and there's even a Sing-a-long. Here are some photos of our day down at the beach.
