Mahana's trip to MOTAT
Mahana is part of the Rainbows writing group. Here is writing about our trip to MOTAT. Well done Mahana!
On Wednesday morning we went to MOTAT. My favourite part was the tactile dome and the mirror maze. I liked the tactile dome because it was scary and dark. The best about the mirror maze was that I kept on getting lost all the time. MOTAT stands for the Museum of Transport and Technology.

Michael is apart of the Stars writing group. They have been learning to add detail to the front of word groups to write interesting sentences. Here is what Michael has written.
We learned how to speak appropriately at MOTAT. In our groups we had to listen carefully. Room 9 and 10 had to take responsibility when working together.
On Wednesday we went to MOTAT. I went to the mirror maze. I walked and people were smiling at the mirrors. I was laughing.

Taimana's trip to MOTAT
Taimana has written about our trip to MOTAT. Listen and watch carefully as he shares with you the best part of the day for him.
The tactile dome was like a dark maze. It was cool. Cyrus picked me, Maroroa and Stevenson. We were first to go inside. We all got stuck in the middle and then we all cried "Help!" I found the net, we climbed up and hopped off. Stevenson found the slide and we got out. I felt happy to be out of there.

Fun with Bubbles!
Alexis is in the Rainbows writing group. This group has been learning to include speech marks and a question mark in their paragraphs. Here is her writing. Well done Alexis!
We went outside to make bubbles. Me and my friend said to Sarai "you look like Santa Claus!" Then we made it into a milkshake like a big foam mountain. I thought what is everybody doing with the bubbles?

Bubbles Everywhere! By Stevenson
The Rainbows have been learning to write a paragraph that included "speech marks" and a question mark ?. Here is Stevenson's writing. Great writing Stevenson!
I wondered what everyone was doing? Miss Lavakula said "We're making bubbles". We put water in a bucket with dishwashing liquid and oil. Miss Lavakula gave us some coloured straws. When we got our straws lots of bubbles came out. Falefehi's team was puffing and puffing away. Soon their plastic bucket looked like a volcano was erupting.

Bin It Champions Week 3 and 4
Every week of the term Pt England School has "Bin It" awards given out at assembly. They are awarded to each class at the end of the week only if your bay area is always clean. Room 9 works hard to keep our area tidy and this week we were awarded not one but two certificates. Thanks to Mr J who's in charge of "Bin It" every week.

Mufti Day for Christchurch Movie
Here is a short clip of our mufti day fundraiser. Our whole school ate lunch together on the field and then there was some music and dancing to follow. During our assembly Mr Burt shared with us that we raised $747 but by the end of singing our "Responsibility" song we managed to put together $781. All the money raised will go to the schools for the children in Christchurch.

Mufti Day for Christchurch
Today is mufti day at Pt England School. We are raising money for the schools in Christchurch. Now, we know that it's a nationwide day for everyone to wear red and black and lots of people are. Our uniforms are red and black so we wear these colours almost everyday.
Here is a photo of us in our mufti. Each child bought in a gold coin and we've raised over $30 in our class alone. We're also having a picnic at lunchtime so watch this space for more photos.
