Thank you Variety!

Variety is an organisation that helps children all around the nation. Today at assembly, we had visitors from Variety come and gift our children with chromebooks for their learning at school. Here is short video of the children that received gifts today. We would like to say thank you to all who help this organisation to help children all around New Zealand. We are very blessed!
During assembly we also had an ex student Tanielu Tele'a come and speak to the children about some of the things he has achieved and got up to while here and what he has been up to so far. We are all very proud of him. Tanielu is also Justus' big brother and he came and sat with him for a bit this morning in class.

Gratitude: Being thankful!

Team 4 have an important value for children to learn alongside respect. We have been talking about 'Gratitude' and what this means to us and what it would look like to others. Here is a short movie about what some of our children think gratitude is and what they are grateful/ thankful for. Thank you to all the children that helped make this movie.

Celebrating Niuean Language Week 2016

To finish off the week, our Niuean group performed an item for the whole school during assembly. Mrs Lagitupu quizzed the children on some words that we had shared on PENN News through the week. We had visitors from the Manaiakalani Trust come and speak to us as well as our new police constables for the Glen Innes area.

What a wonderful way to finish the week. Fakaaue lahi and thank you everyone for supporting us. We would especially like to acknowledge the Tusini-Rex family for their song Koe tau Tau Loga kua mole ki Tua. We love our culture! To find more resources, click here.

Check out a bit of Niuean history and our movie for fruits here. A big thank you to all the children who helped film and make these movies.

Olympic Day 2016

Today was a Point England school Olympic event. There were eight countries that children were divided into. Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Jamaica, Fiji, Ireland and Japan. Each country had four teams, seniors (Year 5-8) and juniors (Year 1-4).
There were games for just the juniors and just the seniors. All teams had to compete against other countries. Third place was South Africa, second was Brazil and first place was Fiji. We've had so much fun.

(We were supposed to have the games last term but had to postpone because of the weather). Thank you Miss Va'afusuaga and all the teachers, helpers, students and parents who helped to make this event and awesome one.

Immersion Day

Team 4 had heaps of fun today. It was all about science experiments. Mr Somerville and Mr Goodwin looked at blowing stuff up (with dry ice), Miss West and Mr Baxendine looked at other experiments using dry ice and Mrs Moala and Miss Lavakula made a bouncy ball. Here are some photos and a short clip of what we did today.
