Rocketry Science in Team 4

Today our children were very fortunate to have Gerry and Emily from New Zealand Aerospace Education. They came in and taught us history of rockets, science around forces of rockets and we were very lucky to build rockets in groups of threes and launch them after lunch. Here are some photos and a small video clip of today.

The Royal New Zealand Navy Band

Our school were very fortunate to have the Royal New Zealand Navy Band perform for us today. They played lots of familiar tunes that the children loved and enjoyed dancing too. We all had lots of favourite parts especially when Sponge Bob Squarepants came out and when Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker were fighting. It has inspired lots of children who love music into playing different instruments. We're all very grateful and would like to thank them all for coming. If you would like to know more about the Navy, you can click here. Here are some highlights from today.

Niuean Language Week: Vagahau Niue 2015

Fakaaue fakamua ke he Atua ha ko e haana tau levekiaga kia tautolu oti. Ko e faahi tapu nei, ko e faahi tapu he Vagahau Niue.
This week is Niuean Language Week. Here is a short video of what we did here at our school to celebrate. This year also marks a special event. One hundred years ago 150 Niuean men left Niue and joined New Zealand troops in World War 1.

Thank you Mrs Lagitupu who organised our children into the Niuean group and got them to practice during the holidays too.

New Zealand National Shakeout Day

Today is Shakeout Day. In support of this, our school took part at 9.15am. We heard a deafening destructive noise on our loudspeaker and we all had to find somewhere to "Drop, Cover and Hold".
Here are some photos. Check out more information on this site here.
